Idea2Inspire recently released a new application for iPhone, Mac, and other apple products, called Event Planner. The software was inspired to assist anyone with planning various events, including birthdays, weddings, bar mitzvah or bat mitzvah, fundraisers, and more. The application is entirely free and offers some basic things like note taking and checklists, but also a number of more advanced things like helping with creating guest lists and expense charts.
The idea was to provide an assistant to any event planner, and provide all the information you would normally keep in multiple areas, all with one app. It’s meant for both professional planners and amateur ones, as the system and layout are easy to use and basic. This means anyone can take advantage of the normally spreadsheet worthy information, and you can easily share that information with contacts which are linked to the Event Planner app. That way, if you need someone to handle a particular detail you can provide him or her with the information such as budget and what he or she should be getting.
And of course you can keep each event separate, with a name and all information connected to it under one folder. Some of the other features include the ability to make and check off a checklist. Produce a guest list that can sync with your contacts to provide the contact information if you wish, and keeping track of total expenses and quantities of things.
It seems like exactly the kind of app that would be useful to any event planner, and even possibly be used with event consultants to keep their client informed with the information about their event, and allow them to provide input. Of course, the application is basic, and could always use some tweaks, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be used as an effective assistant and a portable way of keeping track of information.
Hopefully we see more apps like these in the time to come.
